Have you ever missed a call by a few seconds and sat waiting patiently for the person to leave you a voicemail, but they do not? Then you may sit wondering who it is because you do not recognise the number, and you hope they will call you back so as you can stop puzzling over it. You may be interested to know, you can actually find out who it was calling you, just with their number using reverse phone lookup!
First things first, look at the number of the call that you missed, and determine whether it is a landline or a cell phone number. If it is a landline you will need to visit a website such as anywho.com, then you will need to look for the tab on the website for reverse call lookup. On FreeCellSerach this tab is labelled ‘Reverse Lookup’. When you enter the mysterious phone number, the website should show you the name and even the address of the caller. If you are not getting any results, or the search was unsatisfactory, it may be that you were wrong about the type of number calling you. If this is the case, proceed to the next paragraph for more help!
The slightly more difficult, and sometimes charged cell phone number lookup is for cell phones. There are websites that deal with this kind of lookup, and they often give very detailed results of the number you are looking up, even including the state the phone is registered to. However, the fees for this service can be expensive, so you may not wish to consider paying for such a service without considering this. Is it really that important to you to know who called you, or are you just worried you missed a call from a friend with a new number. If you think it is a spam call, searching the number on a search engine will often show you results of it being a spam number if your thoughts are correct.
If you are fed up of spam calls that you do not recognise, or need to know who you missed a call from, the reverse phone lookup can really be a helpful tool. Try to remember when using it that it may not work for some numbers for varying reasons, but the more common numbers that you may be missing calls from should be available for you to lookup.
